IDF Says Its Artillery Corps Has Used Over 100,000 Shells

The Israel Defence Forces have said that their artillery has used over 100,000 shells, with these images showing a number of buildings and people being targeted.

The footage shows a number of buildings being destroyed by Israeli ordnance and alleged Hamas weaponry and militants being targeted.

The images also show Israeli artillery opening fire, with row upon row of shells seen deployed and rocket systems being fired.

The images were obtained from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Tuesday, 28th November, along with a statement saying: “Close fire support, advanced technological capabilities and tools and over 100,000 shells: documentation of the artillery corps’ activity in combat

“Since the beginning of the war, the fire brigades of the artillery corps have been operating and bringing to the battlefield the unique capabilities and fire support close to the fighters in the field.”

We have not been able to independently verify the claims or the footage.

The Israel-Hamas war is now entering its 53rd day, after the deadliest attack on Israel by Hamas on 7th October left 1,200 Israelis dead.

More than 15,000 Palestinians have been killed after Israel retaliated with airstrikes on Gaza and a ground invasion.

An ongoing but uneasy truce that began on 24th November appears to be holding for the most part and has been extended.

A number of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners have been exchanged.

The Foreign Ministers of the G7 have said in a joint statement that they support a further extension of the truce and additional pauses in the future to increase providing assistance to Palestinians in Gaza and to secure the release of all the Israeli hostages.

An Israeli raid in Jenin, in the West Bank, is said to be ongoing, with Israeli forces killing seven Palestinians, including two minors and at least one gunman, according to local sources.

More hostages and prisoners are expected to be exchanged today, with mediator Qatar saying it hoped that a more durable arrangement can be made.

Qatar foreign ministry spokesperson Majed Al Ansari told reporters: “Our main focus right now, and our hope, is to reach a sustainable truce that will lead to further negotiations and eventually to an end … to this war.”

The US government has told Israel that it must work to avoid any “significant further displacement” of Palestinians in southern Gaza.
