Russia has said that it has destroyed Ukrainian drones using surface-to-air missiles in Kherson.

The footage shows a Russian air defence system hidden among some trees before it fires a missile into the sky and apparently hits a drone as a soldier cheers in the background.

The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Thursday, 23rd May, along with a statement claiming (in English): “Strela-10 SAM system crew of Northern Fleet Marines wipe out enemy’s unmanned aerial vehicle.”

The statement said that the images were filmed in the Kherson region of southern Ukraine.
