IDF Say They Are Expanding Ground Ops In Gaza And Destroyed Hamas Compounds

The Israel Defense Forces have said that they are expanding their ground operations in the Gaza Strip and that they have destroyed Hamas compounds.

The first piece of footage appears to show Israeli armour advancing in Gaza, with Israeli soldiers seen holding assault rifles.

The video shows a tank opening fire and buildings on fire.

The second piece of footage shows an aerial view of buildings in Gaza, with a number of them being hit by Israeli ordnance in huge explosions.

The images were obtained from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Monday, 30th October, along with a statement saying, regarding the first video: “IDF forces continue to expand ground operations in the Gaza Strip; during the night the forces eliminated Hamas terrorists and destroyed terrorist infrastructure and military compounds.

“The IDF continued during the night to expand ground operations in the Gaza Strip.”

And commenting on the second piece of footage, the IDF said: “In clashes with terrorists in the Gaza Strip, IDF fighters eliminated dozens of terrorists who had barricaded themselves in buildings and tried to attack the forces.

“During one of the incidents, an aircraft directed by the fighters in the field attacked a meeting building of the terrorist organisation Hamas, which contained over 20 terrorists.”

We have not been able to independently verify the claims or the footage.

The Israeli Air Force has said that it had struck 600 targets in Gaza in a day.

This includes the “area of the Al-Azhar university” from where it said an anti-tank missile was on the brink of being launched.

The move comes as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) expand their assault on Gaza.

Israeli forces have also hit targets in Syria and Lebanon, reportedly a response to ordnance being fired from their borders into Israel.

A further 33 aid vehicles were reportedly allowed to pass into Gaza from Egypt on Sunday.

It is the largest number of vehicles to be allowed to cross the Rafah border since the beginning of the conflict but humanitarian workers have said that it still falls short of what is required.

Karim Khan, a prosecutor for the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, said that the ICC had “active investigations ongoing” into war crimes allegedly committed in Israel, Gaza and the West Bank.

He added: “There should not be any impediment to humanitarian relief supplies going to civilians.”

Jordan has reportedly asked the United States to deploy Patriot air defence systems to shore up its border defence amid rising tensions in the region.

US President Joe Biden reportedly spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
