IDF Say They Destroyed Container With 20 Rocket Launchers On Gaza Beach

The Israel Defense Forces have said that they have destroyed a container on the beach in Gaza that was filled with 20 rocket launchers.

The footage shows a number of buildings in Gaza being destroyed by Israeli ordnance, with individuals also seen being targeted and caught in large explosions.

The images were obtained from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Friday, 10th November, along with a statement saying: “Reserve fighters from the 252nd Division, under the direction of the Shin Bet, attacked 19 Hamas terrorists tonight who were preparing to attack our forces.

“In addition, the fighters of the 401st Brigade Combat Team located and destroyed a container located on the beach containing about 20 rocket launchers.”

We have not been able to independently verify the claims or the footage.

The Israel-Hamas war is now entering its 35th day, after the deadliest attack on Israel by Hamas on 7th October left 1,400 Israelis dead.

Israel has since retaliated with airstrikes on Gaza and a ground invasion, with the Hamas-run Ministry of Health in Gaza saying that at least 10,818 people have died, many of them women and children.

It said that over 4,412 of the dead are children and that an additional 28,500 Palestinians have been injured.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a deal for a five-day ceasefire with Palestinian militant groups in Gaza in return for some of Hamas’ hostages being released.

His comments this week suggesting that Israel would oversee security in Gaza definitely have garnered pushback from the United States, Israel’s main ally.

Netanyahu said on Thursday: “We don’t seek to conquer Gaza, we don’t seek to occupy Gaza, and we don’t seek to govern Gaza”.

He added that after the war, “what we have to see is Gaza demilitarised, deradicalised and rebuilt.”

The White House has said that Israel is set to implement four-hour “humanitarian pauses” in parts of northern Gaza that will allow people to leave.

John Kirby, the US National Security spokesperson, has described the move as a “significant first step”.
United Nations spokesperson Stephane Dujarric has said that any short-term pauses in the fighting in Gaza must be carried out in coordination with the UN following agreement by all sides in order to be “truly effective”.

Thousands of Palestinians are continuing to flee south from northern Gaza.
