IDF Says It Took Out Hamas Drone Launch Sites Built On Civilian Houses

The Israel Defense Forces have said they have taken out Hamas drone launch sites located on the roofs of civilian houses in Gaza.

The footage shows a number of buildings being hit by Israeli ordnance in large explosions.

The images were obtained from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Friday, 13th October, along with a statement saying: “The IDF destroyed dozens of positions for launching hostile aircraft (as UAVs) that were built on the roofs of civilian houses in the Gaza Strip.”

We have not been able to independently verify the claims or the footage.

Israel has given the United Nations (UN) 24 hours to evacuate its staff and 1.1 million civilians from Gaza.

The announcement was made today, Friday, as the Israeli military masses its troops near the border with the Gaza Strip.

UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said: “The United Nations considers it impossible for such a movement to take place without devastating humanitarian consequences.”

He added: “The United Nations strongly appeals for any such order, if confirmed, to be rescinded avoiding what could transform what is already a tragedy into a calamitous situation.”

Hamas has reportedly told civilians to stay home and ignore the Israeli evacuation orders.

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said on Thursday: “Now is a time of war.”

His words came days after the deadliest attack ever by Palestinian militants on Israel.

Israel said it had dropped 6,000 bombs on Gaza since Saturday.

The Palestinian Health Ministry has said that 1,500 Palestinians have died, a third of them children, with 6,600 people wounded.

The Israeli government formally declared war on Hamas and gave the go-ahead for “significant military steps” to retaliate against the organisation over the surprise attack last Saturday that has left 1,200 people dead inside Israel.
