IDF Takes Out Large Buildings In Gaza Strip In Huge Explosions

These images show Israeli forces taking out a number of large buildings in the Gaza Strip, with the Israel Defense Forces saying they are targeting Hamas.

The first piece of footage shows an explosion in the water before cutting to what appears to be a building on the ground being targeted in a huge explosion.

The second piece of footage shows a large building being hit, while the third piece of footage begins by showing what appears to be a building in a residential area being destroyed before other buildings and targets are seen being hit.

The images were obtained from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) late on Wednesday, 11th October, along with a statement saying: “The IDF continues to attack many targets in the Gaza Strip in recent hours.”

In a separate statement, the IDF said that it had taken out further “senior Hamas officials” in “a wave of attacks against operational headquarters of the commando operatives”.

And today, Thursday, 12th October, the IDF said: “As part of the promotion of the readiness of the IDF forces in the Northern Command Sector, reserve forces have been deployed in recent days in the settlements near the border fence in the north.

“The forces carry out various defence tasks in the settlements, which include patrols, ambushes and the deployment of roadblocks, in order to ensure the safety of the residents.”

The IDF added that its fighter jets had carried out “an extensive wave of attacks on operational headquarters of operatives in the commando unit of the terrorist organisation Hamas throughout the Gaza Strip and killed a senior member of the Hamas naval force.”

Nearly 2,100 Israelis and Palestinians have died since Saturday, with thousands more wounded, according to the latest figures at the time of writing.

This includes a death toll of 1,200 people on the Israeli side and 900 people dead in Gaza. At least 2,700 Israelis have been injured and 5,000 people have been injured in Gaza.

Israel has said that the bodies of about 1,500 Hamas fighters have been found inside its borders.

The Israeli government formally declared war on Hamas and gave the go-ahead for “significant military steps” to retaliate against the organisation over the surprise attack last Saturday.

The Israeli military has hit Gaza with airstrikes in retaliation. Tens of thousands of civilians have fled their homes in Gaza as explosions level entire buildings.

Israel has said that it is targeting Hamas militants but Palestinian officials say that residential areas are being hit.

Israel has said that it has hit 2,600 “terrorist targets” inside the Gaza Strip and is reportedly massing troops near the narrow strip of land.

Israel called up 300,000 reservists following the attacks last Saturday, while Hamas has pledged to kill hostages if the Israel Defense Forces target civilians.

Gilad Erdan, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, has said the total number of hostages seized by Hamas was between 100 and 150.

Qatar is reportedly attempting to broker a deal for Hamas to release Israeli women and children in exchange for Israel freeing Palestinian women and children from Israeli prisons.

Israel said that it is cutting off electricity, food, fuel and water in a “complete siege” of Gaza, which is home to 2.3 million people and one of the densest places on Earth.

Gaza’s only power plant is now reportedly out of fuel, with life-saving machines running on generators in hospitals there soon set to stop working.
