Israel MoD Unveils Recent Footage Of Dome Defence System Intercepting Missiles

Israel has unveiled recent footage of its Dome defence system intercepting missiles in the south of the country.

The footage reportedly shows the system firing missiles into the sky and taking out incoming threats.

The images were obtained from Israel’s Ministry of Defence on Wednesday, 13th December, along with a statement saying (in English): “Watch: the Israel Ministry of Defense unveils recent Iron Dome interception footage from southern Israel.

“Filmed by the Israel Missile Defense Organization under the DDR&D, the footage showcases the interceptions carried out by the IAF’s Air and Missile Defense Array.” (sic)

We have not been able to independently verify the claims or the footage.

The Israel-Hamas war is now entering its 67th day, after the deadliest attack on Israel by Hamas on 7th October left 1,200 Israelis dead.

At least 18,400 Palestinians have been killed after Israel retaliated with airstrikes on Gaza and a ground invasion.

The United Nations General Assembly has voted overwhelmingly to demand an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza.

The resolution passed with 153 members voting in favour, 10 voting against, and 23 abstaining.

The United States, Austria, Israel, Guatemala, Liberia and Paraguay were among the countries that voted against the resolution. The United Kingdom abstained.

US President Joe Biden has said that Israel is starting to “lose support” from the international community due to its indiscriminate bombing in Gaza.

Biden added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu needed to change his hard-line government.

Showing from Israeli tanks was focused on the centre of Khan Younis on Tuesday.

A senior official from Yemen’s Houthis has warned cargo ships against travelling towards Israel via the Red Sea hours after the group, which is aligned with Iran, claimed to have carried out an attack on a commercial tanker.
