Military ID Card Stopped Russian Bullet From Killing Ukrainian Border Guard

These images show how a Ukrainian Border Guard was saved by his military ID card when it stopped a Russian bullet in its tracks.

The images show how the military ID, stored in a thick leather wallet bearing the emblem of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stopped the bullet dead in its tracks.

The photographs were obtained from the State Border Service of Ukraine on 15th May along with a statement saying: “The ID saved the life of the borderman in Vovchansk.

“On the northern outskirts of the city, the fighter of the DPSU [State Border Service of Ukraine] with the call sign ‘Tihon’ received numerous injuries in close combat with the enemy.

“Several bullets went through, breaking bones in both legs, and one that could have been fatal was stopped by the soldier’s military ID.

“He was evacuated quickly and now the life of the warrior is no longer under threat.”
