Russia Says It Destroyed Western-Made Robot Ammo Vehicle Being Unloaded By Ukrainian Soldiers

Russia says its forces destroyed a Western-made Ukrainian tracked autonomous vehicle from which ammunition was being unloaded by Ukrainian soldiers.

The images purport to show the tracked vehicle being destroyed by a Russian drone and other ordnance.

The images appear to show a drone dropping a bomb on it and after missing, a kamikaze drone heads straight for it before it is apparently hit by Russian ordnance as the footage ends.

The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Thursday, 23rd May, along with a statement claiming (in English): “Paratroopers from Buryatia annihilate AFU robotic crawler near Chasov Yar

“While carrying out aerial reconnaissance, the paratroopers from Buryatia located a group of infantry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine unloading materiel from a tracked vehicle in one of the settlements close to Chasov Yar.

“After locating the target, the Russian servicemen noted that the vehicle had independently started moving towards forest belts. The vehicle was identified as a Western-made uncrewed tracked robot designed to deliver ammunition and materiel to forward positions.

“The command of the formation decided to destroy it by UAV teams.

“The FPV drone operators immobilised the drone with two precise strikes. Then two munitions dropped from a quadrocopter completely neutralised the target.

“The successful and decisive actions of the UAV teams have thwarted the delivery of materiel and ammunition to the front line for the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.” (sic)

We have not been able to independently verify the claims or the footage.
