Russia Says It Has Deployed Nuclear-Capable Yars Launchers For ‘Combat Patrol’

Russia has said that it has deployed a regiment of Yars mobile intercontinental ballistic missile launchers to go on “combat patrols”.

The footage shows one of the large Yars mobile systems advancing slowly out of a large warehouse for it is seen driving along a snowy road under escort.

A Russian soldier then helps the driver manoeuvre the vehicle into position before it is covered with white camo netting as the footage ends.

The images obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD). On Thursday, 28th March, along with a statement claiming (in English). “Yars missile regiment of Irkutsk missile formation goes on combat patrols.

“While on combat duty at field positions, the Yars missile regiment will perform more than 20 missions and scenarios, including technical ones. Particular attention is payed to issues of repelling an attack of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

“During the command and staff drills, the servicemen will change field positions, missile battalions will disperse and move through mock contaminated areas, as well as new combat patrols will be developed.

“In total, around 300 large vehicles area involved in the manoeuvres.” (sic)

We have not been able to independently verify the claims or the footage.
