Russia has said that its fighter jets have blown up a Ukrainian ammunition warehouse in the village of Kostiantynivka.
The footage, which appears to have been filmed from a drone, purports to show the moment the ammunition warehouse is destroyed in the Russian strike.
The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence on Wednesday, 4th October, along with a statement claiming they show the “destruction of a Ukrainian Armed Forces warehouse in the settlement of Kostiantynivka”.
The statement also said: “According to intelligence data, Ukrainian militants were hiding and storing weapons and military equipment in it.
“With a pinpoint strike using aviation assets, pilots destroyed the warehouse and the weapons inside it.”
We have not been able to independently verify the claims or the footage. Kostiantynivka is a village located in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine.
Russia invaded Ukraine on 24th February 2022 in what the Kremlin is still calling a “special military operation”. Today marks the 588th day of the full-scale war.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that between 24th February 2022 and 4th October 2023, Russia had lost about 279,890 personnel, 4,745 tanks, 9,026 armoured combat vehicles, 6,612 artillery units, 802 multiple launch rocket systems, 540 air defence systems, 315 warplanes, 316 helicopters, 5,121 drones, 1,530 cruise missiles, 20 warships, 1 submarine, 8,962 motor vehicles and fuel tankers, and 946 units of special equipment.
Russia has claimed that its casualties have been much lower but provides infrequent updates on its latest figures.
