Ukrainian Combat Helicopters Fire Missiles At Russian Military Positions On The Frontlines

These images show Ukrainian combat helicopters firing missiles at Russian military positions on the frontlines.

The footage shows a Ukrainian combat helicopter taking to the skies before it is seen flying low over countryside along with a second helicopter.

It can then be seen firing its deadly ordnance at unseen Russian positions, with the images then showing the two choppers continuing to fly over open fields and bodies of water before firing again and deploying flares as they take a base of action.

The images were obtained from the 12th Separate Brigade of Army Aviation named after Corporal General Viktor Pavlenko of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Wednesday, 2nd August, along with a statement saying: “Another working day.”

The images and statement were also relayed by the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia invaded Ukraine on 24th February 2022 in what the Kremlin is still calling a “special military operation”. Today marks the 525th day of the full-scale war.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that between 24th February 2022 and 2nd August 2023, Russia had lost about 247,230 personnel, 4,217 tanks, 8,213 armoured combat vehicles, 4,866 artillery units, 700 multiple launch rocket systems, 463 air defence systems, 315 warplanes, 311 helicopters, 4,042 drones, 1,347 cruise missiles, 18 warships, 7,349 motor vehicles and fuel tankers, and 718 units of special equipment.

Russia has claimed that its casualties have been much lower but provides infrequent updates on its latest figures.

Poland said on Tuesday that it is rushing troops to its eastern border with Belarus after accusing the country, which is Russia’s closest ally, of violating its airspace with military helicopters.

The Belarusian military has denied the violation and accused Poland, a member of NATO, of manufacturing the accusation in order to justify building up troops on its border.

Russian air defence reportedly shot down several drones targeting the Moscow area on Tuesday, according to the Russian capital’s Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

One of the drones reportedly hit a tower that had already been hit on Sunday.

The Russian Ministry of Defence said that two drones had been shot down in the Odintsovo and Narofominsk districts near Moscow.

A third drone reportedly crashed in the Russian capital after being jammed.

The Russian governor of occupied Crimea, Mikhail Razvozhaev, said that a drone had been down in the Sevastopol district.

He said: “A UAV was shot down in the Kara-Koba area. An explosion occurred on the ground. Grass and bushes caught fire. Fire brigades are already on site and have begun to put out the blaze.”

The Chief of the General Staff of Russia’s Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, has reportedly visited troops in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region.

Gerasimov was one of the military leaders that was repeatedly criticised by the leader of the Wagner mercenary organisation Yevgeny Prigozhin.

Ukraine’s Interior Minister, Ihor Klymenko, said that his country had thwarted a Russian attempt to infiltrate a saboteur group across its northern border overnight.

The Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Nayev, said that four individuals had attempted to enter the country but had been repelled by Ukrainian fire.
