Ukrainian Firefighters Hose Down Destroyed Iconic Odesa Port Hotel After Russian Attack

These images show Ukrainian firefighters hosing down an iconic hotel in the port of the city of Odesa after it was destroyed by Russian missiles and drones overnight.

The footage shows Ukrainian firefighters hosing down the structure, which the footage shows was seriously damaged in the attack.

The images show how little remains of the once iconic building which stood proudly overlooking the Black Sea.

No one was injured in the attack, according to Ukrainian officials.

The images were obtained from the State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine for the Odesa region on Monday, 25th September, along with a statement saying: “The hotel at the naval station in Odesa was an iconic and bright memory for everyone who was at least once in our city. Russia destroyed it today.”

Russia invaded Ukraine on 24th February 2022 in what the Kremlin is still calling a “special military operation”. Today marks the 579th day of the full-scale war.

The Pope said that some countries were “playing games” with Ukraine by backing out of commitments after providing weapons.

The Pope said: “I’ve seen now that some countries are pulling back, and aren’t giving weapons. This will start a process where the martyrdom is the Ukrainian people, certainly. And this is bad.”

He also said: “We cannot play with the martyrdom of the Ukrainian people. We have to help resolve things in ways that are possible.”

The Russian-installed head of the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine has reportedly imposed a curfew for civilians from 11 pm until 4 am, and from Mondays to Fridays.
