Ukrainian Soldier Hits Russian Position With Rocket Launcher

These images show a Ukrainian soldier hitting a Russian military position with a rocket launcher.

The footage shows the soldier advancing before opening fire, with the rocket causing a large explosion.

The images were obtained from the Command of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Wednesday, 13th September, along with a statement saying: “Flamethrower – forward! The target is a machine gun in a trench! Destroy!

“The flamethrowers of the RHC defence regiment of the Support Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to reinforce the actions of the assault units with fire and step by step bring Victory closer!”

The images were also relayed by the Office of Strategic Communications (StratCom) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine along with a statement saying: “The excellent work of the flamethrowers of the RHC defence regiment of the Support Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in destroying the occupiers.”

Russia invaded Ukraine on 24th February 2022 in what the Kremlin is still calling a “special military operation”. Today marks the 567th day of the full-scale war.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that between 24th February 2022 and 13th September 2023, Russia had lost about 270,350 personnel, 4,584 tanks, 8,792 armoured combat vehicles, 5,902 artillery units, 766 multiple launch rocket systems, 517 air defence systems, 315 warplanes, 316 helicopters, 4,650 drones, 1,455 cruise missiles, 19 warships, 8,444 motor vehicles and fuel tankers, and 884 units of special equipment.

Russia has claimed that its casualties have been much lower but provides infrequent updates on its latest figures.

The leader of North Korea Kim Jong-un has arrived in Russia for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss supplying Russia with arms for its war in Ukraine.

The Director of the US Air National Guard, Lieutenant General Michael Loh, has said that Ukrainian pilots could be trained to fly F-16 fighter jet before the end of the year although it will take longer for them to carry out combat missions in the aircraft.

Ukrainian pilots are reportedly expected to arrive in Arizona in October for training and could complete this in three months.

Speaking in Vladivostok, Putin said that the Ukrainian counteroffensive had not made any progress.

He also accused the British secret services of training Ukrainian saboteurs to launch attacks against Russian infrastructure.

The foreign ministers of the G7 group of countries have denounced the “sham elections” held by Russia in the occupied Ukrainian territories.

They said: “These sham ‘elections’ will not alter our approach nor our support to Ukraine as it fights to reclaim its internationally-recognised territory.”

The Swedish government is reportedly considering donating some of its Gripen fighter jets to Ukraine to help it fight back against the invading Russian forces.
