Israeli Forces Take Out Hamas Fighters And Direct Aircraft To Attack Infrastructure

Israeli forces have said that they have taken out Hamas fighters and directed their aircraft to attack the organisation’s infrastructure.

The footage shows an Israeli tank and bulldozer advancing in Gaza, with the video then showing Israeli soldiers opening fire from buildings and a series of large explosions.

The images were obtained from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Wednesday, 8th November, along with a statement saying: “IDF fighters continue to operate deep in the Gaza Strip, eliminating terrorists and directing aircraft to attack Hamas terrorist infrastructure.”

We have not been able to independently verify the claims or the footage.

The Israel-Hamas war is now entering its 33rd day, after the deadliest attack on Israel by Hamas on 7th October left 1,400 Israelis dead.

Israel has since retaliated with airstrikes on Gaza and a ground invasion, with the Hamas-run Ministry of Health in Gaza saying that at least 10,000 people have died, many of them women and children.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are encircling Gaza City and are operating on the ground inside it.

He said that civilians should continue to move south and that there would be no ceasefire until Hamas releases its hostages.

Approximately 240 people are understood to have been taken hostage by Hamas during its attack on Israel in October.

Netanyahu also said that Israel might consider “tactical little pauses” in the fighting so that aid can get in and hostages can get out.

He also said that Israel may govern the territory indefinitely.

He said: “Israel will for an indefinite period […] have the overall security responsibility [in Gaza] because we’ve seen what happens when we don’t.”

Following the comments, the White House said that it does not believe that Israel should reoccupy Gaza but National Security spokesperson John Kirby also said on Tuesday that “Hamas cannot be part of the equation”.

Yoav Gallant, Israel’s Defence Minister, has said that the IDF are operating inside Gaza city and “tightening the chokehold” around it.
