Moment Ukrainian Special Forces Destroy Expensive Russian Counter-Battery Radar System

This is the moment Ukrainian special forces destroy an expensive Russian counter-battery radar system worth at least USD 10 million.

The shaky footage shows the Russian war machine driving along a road before it is hit by Ukrainian ordnance and blown to pieces.

The images were obtained from the 3rd Separate Special Purpose Regiment named after Prince Sviatoslav the Brave of the Special Operations Forces (SSO) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Tuesday, 24th October, along with a statement saying: “Soldiers of the SSO burned down the enemy radar ‘Zoopark-1’.

“In the Donetsk direction, the SSO hunted a ‘fat’ target – a ‘Zoopark-1’ reconnaissance and fire control radar system (the very one that the Russians like to brag about).

“Operators of the 3rd Regiment detected and identified the enemy radar, and adjusted artillery fire on it.

“As a result of the professional actions of our soldiers, the Russian army suffered considerable losses.

“How millions from the Russian budget burn – see in the video.”

The images were also relayed by the Office of Strategic Communications (StratCom) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The ‘Zoopark-1’ system is reportedly worth at least USD 10 million, which is approximately the equivalent of five state-of-the-art Russian T-90 tanks.

Russia invaded Ukraine on 24th February 2022 in what the Kremlin is still calling a “special military operation”. Today marks the 608th day of the full-scale war.

Russia has claimed that its casualties have been much lower but provides infrequent updates on its latest figures.
