These images show Ukrainian special forces taking out Russian troops with a mortar before taking out Russian soldiers with a kamikaze drone as they run for cover.
The video shows the Russian position in a forested area between two fields being hit by Ukrainian mortar fire.
The images then switch to a kamikaze drone which can be seen honing in on the Russian soldiers and hitting them as they run for cover.
The images were obtained from the 8th Special Purpose Regiment named after Prince Izyaslav Mstislavich of the Special Operations Forces (SSO) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Monday, 19th June, along with a statement saying: “Not far from Blahodatne, during reconnaissance, the movement of the enemy along the ‘landing’ was detected.
“Thanks to the skilful work of the mortar calculation, the enemy left the posts and moved to the shelter, the FPV [First-Person View] drone operator put an end to the senseless existence of the invaders!”
The images and statement were also relayed by the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russia invaded Ukraine on 24th February 2022 in what the Kremlin is still calling a “special military operation”. Today marks the 482nd day of the full-scale war.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that between 24th February 2022 and 20th June 2023, Russia had lost about 221,460 personnel, 3,997 tanks, 7,750 armoured combat vehicles, 3,888 artillery units, 614 multiple launch rocket systems, 372 air defence systems, 314 warplanes, 306 helicopters, 3,393 drones, 1,214 cruise missiles, 18 warships, 6,645 motor vehicles and fuel tankers, and 531 units of special equipment.
Russia has claimed that its casualties have been much lower but provides infrequent updates on its latest figures.
