Russia Says Its Su-25 Fighter Jets Hit Ukrainian Targets In Sievierodonetsk Direction

Russia has said that its Su-25 fighter jets have hit Ukrainian targets in the Sievierodonetsk region.

The footage shows one of the Russian aircraft taking off from a runway at a military base before two of the aircraft are seen flying over countryside.

One of the planes unleashes a salvo of missiles before taking a base of action as the images cut to the second aircraft also firing its ordnance.

The footage then cuts to a number of explosions on the ground, reportedly Ukrainian positions being hit.

The aircraft can then be seen deploying flares to avoid being hit as they prepare to return to base as the footage ends.

The Russian MoD added: “Attack aircraft crews on Su-25 aircraft carried out a strike with unguided aircraft missiles on enemy strongholds and manpower in the Severodonetsk direction in the zone of a special military operation.

“After using aircraft weapons, the crews performed an anti-missile manoeuvre, released heat traps and returned to the departure airfield.

“According to the reports of the forward aircraft gunner, all of the indicated targets successfully hit. The flight went as usual.”

The statement quotes an Su-25 pilot called Alexander as saying: “We received a combat mission to destroy enemy personnel. We reached the target area. They launched unguided missiles from a nose-up position. PAN confirmed the hit. We work for its intended purpose. Victory will be ours!”

The statement continued: “Engineering and technical specialists completed the tasks of maintaining aircraft and preparing aircraft for a second combat mission.”

We have not been able to independently verify the claims or the footage.
