This is the moment Russian air defence units shoot down a Ukrainian ‘Leleka-100’ drone with a ‘Verba’ air defence system near Bakhmut.

The alleged counterstrike was carried out by the Ivanov Guards of the Airborne Forces, who are on combat duty day and night, Russia’s Ministry of Defence said.

It added in a statement obtained by Clipzilla on 2nd April: “Located northwest of Artemovsk [Bakhmut], near the approaches to Chasov Yar, airborne units protect portable anti-aircraft missile systems (‘Verba’) from aerial strikes.

“These airborne anti-aircraft gunners maintain combat readiness to defend and cover the units of the formation during active combat operations.

“To detect and destroy aerial targets, airborne troops have set up air observation posts, enabling them to promptly detect and eliminate enemy aircraft.
