Ukrainian Artillery Takes Out Russian Armoured Personnel Carrier

These images show Ukrainian artillery taking out a Russian armoured personnel carrier that they said ended up blocking other vehicles.

The footage shows the Russian armoured personnel carrier being hit by Ukrainian ordnance, possibly cluster munitions, with smoke then seen rising from it into the air.

The images were obtained from the 1st Separate Special Purpose Brigade named after Ivan Bohun of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Friday, 15th September, along with a statement saying: “The destruction of an enemy armoured personnel carrier by the artillery of the 1st Separate Brigade named after Ivan Bohun.

“A pleasant bonus – the burned-out armoured personnel carrier blocked the crossing and prevented the free passage of other vehicles.”

The images were also relayed by the Office of Strategic Communications (StratCom) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The British plane, with a crew of up to 30 people, was conducting a surveillance mission in international airspace over the Black Sea on 29th September last year when a Russian fighter pilot fired two missiles at it.

Neither hit the British aircraft, with Russia officially blaming the incident on a malfunction.

But intercepted Russian communications reportedly show that the Russian pilot believed that he had been authorised to fire on the British aircraft.
