These images show Ukrainian forces destroying Russian armoured vehicles and capturing surrendering troops.

The footage shows a number of Russian war machines being blown to pieces by Ukrainian ordnance, with infantry seen fleeing.

The images show Ukrainian war machines opening fire on Russian positions and destroying further vehicles, with Russian soldiers seen taking shelter in a foxhole before surrendering to Ukrainian forces.

The video also shows Russian infantry being targeted by Ukrainian ordnance, with other Russian soldiers also surrendering to Ukrainian infantry.

The images were obtained from the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Thursday, 16th November, along with a statement saying: “The final part of the enemy’s suicidal attack on the positions of defenders.

“After losing dozens of soldiers killed and wounded, the Russians were only thinking about salvation.

“The defeat of the occupiers was completed by a counterattack of the armoured vehicles of the 58th motorized infantry brigade.

“The result – destroyed Russian equipment, the invaders eliminated.

“Only a few Russians were lucky enough to voluntarily surrender.

“Every Russian occupant who sets foot on our land will fall on it!”

The images were also relayed by the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, along with a statement saying: “The defeat of the occupiers was completed by a counterattack by armoured vehicles of the 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade.

“Having lost dozens of soldiers dead and wounded, the Russians thought only of salvation.”

Russia invaded Ukraine on 24th February 2022 in what the Kremlin is still calling a “special military operation”. Today marks the 631st day of the full-scale war.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that between 24th February 2022 and 16th November 2023, Russia had lost about 315,620 personnel, 5,388 tanks, 10,121 armoured combat vehicles, 7,683 artillery units, 892 multiple launch rocket systems, 585 air defence systems, 323 warplanes, 324 helicopters, 5,689 drones, 1,563 cruise missiles, 22 warships, 1 submarine, 10,060 motor vehicles and fuel tankers, and 1,084 units of special equipment.

Russia has claimed that its casualties have been much lower but provides infrequent updates on its latest figures.

The Czech Republic has frozen Russian state assets in the country, including property, with Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky saying: “At my suggestion, the government today approved the freezing of Russian state assets in the Czech Republic.

“The commercial activities from which Russia finances the murder of Ukrainians ends here.”

Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, has said that Ukraine joining NATO would be unacceptable to Russia.

She said: “Whether in parts or in any form, Ukraine’s accession to NATO is unacceptable for Russia.”

Ukrainian officials have said that a Russian missile has killed two emergency workers in southern Ukraine as they were putting out the fire from a previous attack that had occurred only minutes earlier.

The strikes in Zaporizhzhia injured at least seven other people.

The EU’s proposed ban on the export of machine tools and machinery parts that Russia uses to make weapons targeting Ukraine.

The proposal is part of the 12th proposed sanctions package against Russia, which also includes diamonds.

Russia has admitted for the first time that some Ukrainian troops had established positions on the Russian-controlled side of the Dnipro River.
