The astonishing video shows Russian flamethrowers allegedly destroying a Ukrainian stronghold and more than 15 soldiers in an organised attack.
The purported attack was carried out with the improved TOS-1A ‘Solntsepyok’ (‘Scorching sunlight’) system by soldiers from Russia’s Southern Military District in eastern Ukraine.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence said in a statement obtained by Clipzilla: “Unnoticed by the enemy, the Solntsepyok crews moved to a combat position during the dark hours and delivered a strike with thermobaric charges at pre-determined coordinates.
“According to reconnaissance data, as a result of the strike, one of the Ukrainian fortified areas was hit, and more than 15 Ukrainian military personnel were destroyed.
“The heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A Solntsepyok is also designed for providing fire support to infantry and tanks, engaging both open and closed fire positions in various types of defensive and offensive battles, as well as disabling lightly armoured vehicles and enemy transport.”
